Supporting Independent Living with Dignity and Choice

Personalised support to live independently

Kensa Health provides Steven with 15 hours of personalised support each week, delivered across five days, to enable him to live independently in his own home. Steven has cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user; support is focused on maintaining a safe, habitable living environment and promoting his independence.

Practical support at home

Support staff assist Steven with household tasks, including cleaning and cooking, to ensure his home is well maintained and that he can prepare and enjoy meals safely. Staff also attend the property during bathing and showering to provide reassurance and respond promptly should any issues arise, supporting Steven to maintain his personal hygiene with dignity.

Maintaining choice and control

Although Steven has capacity to make his own decisions, Kensa Health supports him with practical aspects of managing his finances, such as paying bills and general financial organisation. This tailored approach ensures Steven retains control over his life while receiving the right level of assistance where required, enabling him to continue living safely and independently at home.
